There is a great level of songwriting that shines up through this record. The lyrics are original, beautifully written and mesh perfectly with the vocal melodies. The instrumentation is outstanding and the melodies of this song are incredibly catchy. <strong>Rootiger <\/strong>is a talented singer-songwriter and has an amazing passion for his music. <strong><em>&#8220;Remedial Training&#8221;<\/em><\/strong> is different and really some good stuff to listen to all day long. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We recommend listening through the EP from start to finish to get the perfect experience, but don\u2019t worry, it\u2019ll be the best minutes you\u2019ll ever spend. Recommended.\u201d \u2013 <strong>Matt Jensen<\/strong>, Divide &amp; Conquer music, on <strong>Rootiger&#8217;s <\/strong>debut EP &#8220;Things change real slow&#8221; <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hailing from the paper production capitol of the world, <strong>Scranton Pennsylvania<\/strong>, <strong>Mark Dunford <\/strong>writes, records, and performs under <strong>Rootiger <\/strong>\/rue.ti.gger\/. While enlisted in the Air Force, <strong>Dunford <\/strong>was mostly stationed at Holloman AFB in rural <strong>New Mexico<\/strong>. He lived in a cabin in <strong>Cloudcroft<\/strong>, <strong>NM <\/strong>working on his voice as a songwriter, making crude home recordings and self-releasing them onto the internet. After leaving the military in 2018 he relocated to Boston, MA to attend the Berklee College of Music. <strong>Rootiger\u2019s <\/strong>sound touches on indie rock, early emo, lo-fi, and americana. <strong>Rootiger <\/strong>began releasing singles in 2019 with a cover of Fugazi\u2019s \u201cI\u2019m so tired\u201d, \u201cDeadlights&#8221; in 2020, and the lo-fi \u201cfolk songs &amp; trap beats\u201d in July 2021 before releasing his debut EP \u201cthings change real slow\u201d on October 29th, 2021.
